STEP 1: Choose the correct Bottle:

  • If you desire your perfume odor in a floral and romantic fragrance, you can add 15 drops of ylang-ylang essential oil.
Prepare Middle or Heart Note:

After using perfume, when the top layer has disappeared, it comes to the middle note to provide a good and fresh odor. It is the biggest portion of every perfume that can participate 50 to 80 percent of the total blend. You can try these combinations for different occasions and purposes.

  • Add 10 drops of lime essential oil for a fresh and energizing fragrance in your bottle.
  • Add 10 drops of orange essential oil in your bottle, if you need a romantic aroma.
  • If you want a sensual and earthy fragrance, you can add 14 drops of ginger essential oil.
Steps to prepare Top Note:

The last layer is called the top note. This fragrance you will notice first when you apply any perfume. This note contains 5 to 20 percent of the total blend. These are the final steps to complete all three layers. You can try these combinations for different occasions and purposes.

  • Add 10 drops of lavender essential oil for an energizing blend in the bottle. The lavender fragrances are one of the top-selling products for many major designer houses.
  • Add 10 drops of rose essential oil in your bottle, if you need a romantic and floral aroma.
  • For a sensual and earthy fragrance, you can try adding 10 drops of cedar wood essential oil.

Here is a secret tip for you: If you did hard work on creating a great fragrance scent and mixed any wrong essential oil with it, don’t panic. Just put a drop of orange oil, and it will mask up the smell of other aromas.

STEP 3: Dilution Process:

Now, the most important part is dilution. Most of the perfume makers use alcohol in the blend, as it keeps the aroma preserved for longer than usual.

However, as we are discussing how to make alcohol-free perfumes, making an essential perfume using alcohol mixtures is not necessary. You can try these aromatic oils as an alternative to alcohol :

  • Jojoba oil
  • Sweet almond oil
  • Grape seeds

These are known as fragrance carrier oils and work best in a roller dark perfume bottle.

STEP 4: Shake the bottle well:

The final step includes shaking your bottle after adding all the ingredients to your fragrance. It will help aromas to blend and mix perfectly. After that, leave it for at least a month before using it. It will become stronger and intensify, as long as you keep the bottle closed after shaking.

Ways To Make Different Kinds of Perfumes without alcohol:

  • Fresh and Sassy Fragrance: You can try adding 4 drops of grapefruit oil, 14 drops of geranium oil, 6 drops of ginger essential oils, and 2 fl oz of carrier oil for dilution.
  • Floral Fragrance: Add 20 drops of lavender oil, 15 drops of jasmine oil, 5 drops of vanilla, and 2 fl oz of carrier oil.
  • Fruity Fragrance: Add 7 drops of bergamot oil, 10 drops of rose oil, 8 drops of orange oil, 5 drops of ginger oil, and 2 fl oz of carrier oil.
  • Uplifting fragrance: Add 12 drops of cedar wood oil, 8 drops of clary sage oil, 2 drops of rosemary oil, 2 drops of lemon essential oil, and 2 fl oz of carrier oil.

There are several other blends you can try as you desire the fragrance to be, such as autumnal blend or calming beach blend, etc.
