What cologne does Jacob Elordi wear? He almost never talks about his personal fragrance, so this one takes some detective work.
The strongest evidence points to Bleu de Chanel. Chanel named him the face of Bleu de Chanel in April 2026, and he fronts the Bleu de Chanel L’Exclusif campaign directed by Alfonso Cuarón. Before that he spent several years as a paid face of BOSS The Scent. He has never publicly named a fragrance he wears off duty.
That last point matters, and most pages ranking for this question skip over it. A campaign contract tells you which bottle a brand pays him to hold. It doesn’t tell you what’s on his bathroom shelf. Below we sort every scent linked to him by how much evidence actually supports it, then give each claim a verdict.
The confidence meter: what cologne does Jacob Elordi wear, ranked by evidence
We checked brand announcements, campaign press, magazine interviews, grooming features, and the fan chatter that collects around any famous actor. Here is how each claim holds up as of November 2026.
| Scent or claim | Confidence | Source type | Date |
|---|---|---|---|
| Bleu de Chanel L’Exclusif (current campaign face) | High | Paid / ambassador: Chanel announcement and campaign film | Announced April 2026; film released May 2026 |
| BOSS The Scent, Le Parfum and Elixir (former face) | High (for the past) | Paid / ambassador: BOSS campaigns | February 2022 and February 2024 |
| Chanel N°5 (co-star in the “See You at 5” film) | Medium | Paid: he appears in a campaign that Margot Robbie fronts | October 2024 |
| “Bleu de Chanel is his everyday scent” | Medium-low | Reported: magazine inference from the contract, no quote | April–May 2026 |
| “Chanel N°5 is his favorite” | Low | Unverified: one feature with no quote or source | March 2026 |
| Fan claims (Reddit, TikTok, “smell like Elordi” lists) | Low | Fan claim / unverified | Ongoing |
| Bottega Veneta and Calvin Klein | None (not fragrance) | Paid fashion contracts only | 2019 (CK); May 2024 (Bottega) |
Anyone asking what cologne does Jacob Elordi wear should read the table top to bottom: the higher a row, the more you can trust it. A note on our labels. Confirmed means he said it himself. Paid means a contract or campaign. Reported means a credible outlet attributed it to him without a direct quote. Unverified covers everything else. We don’t move a claim up a tier because many sites repeat it.
Claim 1: Bleu de Chanel L’Exclusif, his current fragrance contract
Verdict: Paid (current, and the strongest link of all)
Chanel announced Elordi as the new face of Bleu de Chanel on April 23, 2026. Outlets including V Magazine, Esquire, and Jing Daily reported the news the same week. He follows Timothée Chalamet, who joined the line in 2023 after the late Gaspard Ulliel. Elordi had already worked with the house, which we cover in Claim 3, so this appointment didn’t come out of nowhere.
The campaign launched in late May 2026. It isn’t built around the original blue bottle. It focuses on Bleu de Chanel L’Exclusif, the darker and more concentrated version that first launched on August 26, 2025 with Chalamet as its face. Alfonso Cuarón directed the film. It has no dialogue and plays like a spy caper: Elordi breaks into a safe for the bottle, and a masked woman snatches it from him during a fight choreographed like a tango.
In an interview with i-D, Elordi described the scent this way: “It’s subtle… it complements who you are without changing it.” In a June 2026 interview with Sharp, he talked about the training and rehearsal for the action sequences. He didn’t say what he sprays on a normal Tuesday.
What Bleu de Chanel L’Exclusif smells like
Chanel’s own product page calls L’Exclusif a woody, leathery, ambery fragrance built like an extrait and “the most mysterious” of the Bleu line. In-house perfumer Olivier Polge built it around three key elements:
- Sandalwood, the lead note. Chanel sources it from the island of Maré in New Caledonia through its own supply chain.
- Cistus labdanum, a resin that adds a leathery, slightly smoky warmth.
- Woody-ambery notes, which give the long, warm drydown.
The full ingredient list also includes bergamot, lavender, rose, and jasmine, but the wood is what you notice. If you know the original Bleu de Chanel as a fresh citrus-and-incense blue, L’Exclusif is quieter and closer to the skin. That fits the way Elordi described it.
At the time of writing, Chanel’s US site lists L’Exclusif at $205 for 2 fl oz, and the Indian site lists 60 ml at ₹16,700. Prices change, so check before you buy.
Is the original Bleu de Chanel part of the deal too?
Chanel presents Elordi as the ambassador for the whole Bleu de Chanel line, and some coverage refers to the eau de parfum. Hypebae listed its familiar structure: grapefruit, lemon, mint, and pink pepper on top, ginger, nutmeg, and jasmine in the heart, and incense, cedar, vetiver, sandalwood, and labdanum in the base. The film itself, though, is about L’Exclusif. If you want the bottle from the campaign, that’s the one. Our roundup of the best Chanel perfumes explains where each Bleu sits in the house’s lineup.
Claim 2: BOSS The Scent, his first big fragrance role
Verdict: Paid (past contract)
Elordi’s first major fragrance contract wasn’t with Chanel. In February 2022 BOSS named him the newest face of BOSS The Scent, joining an ambassador list that already included Gerard Butler and Anthony Joshua. Hero Magazine covered the launch of The Scent Le Parfum, which co-starred Laura Harrier in a short campaign film. Karim Sadli shot the stills.
In that launch press, Elordi gave the closest thing on record to a personal view on fragrance: “I believe that in a primal way, scent plays a huge role in attraction.” It’s an honest line, but he said it while promoting a product. It doesn’t tell us what he wears.
The Scent family, note by note
| Version | Campaign year with Elordi | Key notes (per brand/press) |
|---|---|---|
| BOSS The Scent for Him | 2022 | Maninka fruit and ginger; iris heart; smoky leather base |
| BOSS The Scent Le Parfum for Him | 2022 | Ginger, maninka fruit, iris, rich leather |
| BOSS The Scent Elixir for Him | 2024 | Red pimento over a woody base of Caledonian sandalwood (perfumer Nelly Hachem-Ruiz) |
The Elixir arrived in February 2024 at a 25% concentration, again with Elordi and Harrier in the campaign. Notice the sandalwood. Two years before Chanel signed him, his campaign scent was already built on New Caledonian sandalwood. You could call that a pattern, but brands pick the scent and the actor, so don’t read too much into it.
Is he still with BOSS?
Probably not for fragrance. When Coty unveiled its February 2025 BOSS The Scent campaign, David Corenswet and Eiza González were the faces, and Elordi wasn’t mentioned. A Chanel fragrance contract would almost certainly rule out a rival scent deal. We found no official statement that the partnership ended, so we describe it as past rather than terminated. If you like ginger-and-leather warmth, our guide to the best leather fragrances picks up where The Scent leaves off.
Claim 3: Chanel N°5, the women’s classic he helped sell
Verdict: Paid (as campaign co-star); the “favorite perfume” version is Unverified
On October 14, 2024, Chanel released “See You at 5,” a short N°5 film directed by Luca Guadagnino. Margot Robbie is the face of N°5, and Elordi co-stars opposite her. Marie Claire reported the film runs about two minutes and twenty seconds. That was Elordi’s first Chanel fragrance job, and it helps explain why the house chose him for Bleu 18 months later.
Here’s where the story gets muddled. In March 2026, a perfume magazine ran a short “star scent” feature saying Elordi had picked Chanel N°5 Eau de Parfum as an unexpected favorite. We read it closely. It has no quote from him and doesn’t say where or when he made the pick. We couldn’t find the claim in any interview, video, or press release.
This is a common way celebrity scent myths start. Our best guess is that someone turned “he appeared in an N°5 film” into “N°5 is his favorite.” Until he says so himself, treat it as unverified. Men can and do wear N°5, and our piece on whether men can wear women’s perfume makes the case. We just won’t claim Elordi does.
Claim 4: “Bleu de Chanel is his everyday scent”
Verdict: Reported (inference, not a quote)
After the April 2026 announcement, several outlets moved from “face of” to “wears.” A Spanish men’s style site published a piece in May 2026 calling Bleu de Chanel the perfume Elordi uses. Its evidence was the ambassadorship and the writer’s sense that his understated style points to timeless scents. Esquire’s announcement coverage went a little further and placed him among the fragrance’s many fans worldwide.
Both are reasonable guesses, and ambassadors often wear their scent at press events. But a reasonable guess is still a guess. Neither piece quotes Elordi saying he reaches for Bleu de Chanel when the cameras are off, and we found nothing that does. That’s why this sits in the “Reported” tier and not “Confirmed.”
It also helps to be honest about the gray area. During a contract, an ambassador wearing the brand’s scent in public is close to a job requirement. So even photos of him at a Chanel event wouldn’t tell you much. What would settle it is an offhand comment in a long interview. That comment hasn’t come yet.
Claim 5: The Saltburn candle (his own words, but not his scent)
Verdict: Confirmed (his reaction is on record), but it isn’t a fragrance he wears
The only time Elordi has described a smell on camera in his own words had nothing to do with cologne. After Saltburn came out, a novelty candle appeared, themed on his character’s bathwater scene. On The Tonight Show in January 2024, Jimmy Fallon handed him one to smell.
According to Bustle, his verdict was “It smells like a washing room, like detergent.” It’s a funny clip and an accurate description of how clean-laundry candles usually smell. It’s also the only fully confirmed scent opinion we have from him, and it tells us nothing about what he wears. If that clean, soapy profile appeals to you anyway, see our guide to perfumes that smell like soap.
Claim 6: Fan theories on Reddit and TikTok
Verdict: Unverified
Search his name with “smell like” and you’ll find lots of “get the Elordi look” content. Most of it falls into two groups. One recycles the campaign facts above. The other matches a scent to his on-screen mood, usually something smoky, dark, or “old money,” and presents it as his choice.
For this post we looked through the most visible fan answers to what cologne does Jacob Elordi wear. We found no fan claim backed by a sighting, a receipt, or anything he said. Some posts simply name whatever niche woody scent is trending. That’s fine as inspiration and useless as evidence. If a video says it “knows” his secret scent, ask where it found out. Usually it can’t say.
Dead ends: Bottega Veneta, Calvin Klein, and his grooming kit
Verdict: Unverified as fragrance links (fashion and skincare only)
Three things tend to get mixed into this question, and none of them involves fragrance.
- Bottega Veneta. Elordi became a house ambassador in May 2024. RUSSH described the role as campaigns, runway shows, and wearing the clothes on red carpets. It said nothing about perfume, and Bottega’s fragrance line plays no part in his deal.
- Calvin Klein. His 2019 Calvin Klein campaign was for underwear, and he later appeared in CK clothing campaigns. Neither involved a CK fragrance, despite how many famous CK scents exist.
- Grooming. In September 2025, groomer Amy Komorowski shared the skincare she used on him at the Toronto International Film Festival: a bakuchiol face oil, a rich moisturizer, eye masks, and lip balm. No fragrance was mentioned.
So the fashion and skincare contracts don’t add any scent evidence. The fragrance trail runs through two houses only: BOSS and Chanel.
Scenting his on-screen roles
This section is our imagination, not his choices. Elordi hasn’t said what any of his characters would wear, and these aren’t scents he uses. They’re note palettes we picked to match the mood of each role, for readers who’d rather smell like a film than like an ad.
Felix Catton, Saltburn
Felix is summer-holiday aristocracy: tennis whites, cut grass, a stone house that’s always slightly cold. We’d go with bright bergamot, crushed mint, and a little vetiver, over clean white musk that smells expensive without trying. Our explainer on what vetiver smells like covers the grassy, rooty backbone this kind of scent needs. Palette: bergamot, mint, vetiver, white musk.
Elvis, Priscilla
Sofia Coppola’s Elvis is softer and more domestic than the stage legend. Think hair pomade, a velvet jacket, and a living room at Graceland after midnight. We’d pick lavender and tonka over a soft, slightly sweet tobacco leaf. For the real-life history, see our piece on what perfume Elvis wore. Palette: lavender, tonka bean, tobacco leaf, soft leather.
The Creature, Frankenstein
Guillermo del Toro’s Frankenstein earned Elordi an Oscar nomination. His Creature is a gothic figure of snow, candle smoke, and something heartbreakingly gentle. We’d use frankincense and cold birch smoke, cut with an unexpected iris that reads like skin and powder. Our best incense perfumes list is a good place to start. Palette: frankincense, birch smoke, iris, damp stone.
Heathcliff, Wuthering Heights
Emerald Fennell’s Wuthering Heights, released February 13, 2026, puts him on the Yorkshire moors. The obvious picture is wind, heather, wet earth, and a fire you aren’t sure is welcome. We’d pair oakmoss and heather with leather and a thread of peat smoke. Palette: oakmoss, heather, peat smoke, worn leather.
Notice that none of these sound like Bleu de Chanel L’Exclusif. That’s the point. The campaign Elordi is clean, controlled sandalwood, and most of his famous characters are anything but.
Tall-guy tailoring: how to wear a quiet woody scent
Elordi is about 6’5″, and his campaign scent is designed to stay close. That combination raises a practical question for anyone copying it. Where you spray matters more when your pulse points sit well above most people’s noses. These tips work for any skin-close woody scent, from L’Exclusif to an affordable sandalwood.
Spray lower than you think
On a tall frame, the neck is above the conversation zone. Try one spray at the base of the throat or the center of the chest, under the shirt. Body heat carries the scent upward and out of the collar, so the people beside you notice it when you lean in rather than when you walk into the room. Our map of where to spray perfume covers the other spots that work.
Two sprays, not five
Dense woody-ambery scents don’t project much in the first hour, so people overspray. Then the drydown suddenly fills the elevator. Start with two sprays and wait an hour before you decide it isn’t working. If you’re unsure about the difference between how far a scent reaches and the trail it leaves, read our explainer on sillage vs projection.
Layer it onto fabric, carefully
Wood and resin notes last well on wool and cotton. A light mist on the inside of a jacket lapel will still be there the next morning. Avoid pale silks and anything that stains, and spray from about 20 cm away.
Let your skin do the work
Sandalwood and labdanum smell best on warm, moisturized skin. An unscented moisturizer before you spray helps the scent last longer without getting louder. For more ways to stay noticeable without being overpowering, our guide on how to wear perfume subtly goes further.
Match the scent to the setting
A quiet woody scent works almost anywhere: office, dinner, a long flight. The exception is a hot, humid afternoon, when resins can feel heavy. In summer, switch to something with more citrus and save the sandalwood for the evening.
Gifting the Elordi mood
If you’re shopping for someone who likes Elordi’s understated style, the brief is simple: warm wood, little sparkle, nothing loud. A sandalwood- or labdanum-led scent, an iris-leather, or a soft incense will feel right without copying the campaign exactly. Browse the Giftexo shop for woody and ambery options at different price points. Our list of the best perfumes for 30-year-old men is a handy shortcut if the recipient is about Elordi’s age.
One practical tip: high-demand Chanel bottles are frequently counterfeited, so buy from an authorized seller. Our checklist on how to spot fake perfume shows what to look for.
Still investigating? Quick answers
What cologne does Jacob Elordi wear in 2026?
The strongest public link is Bleu de Chanel. Chanel named him the line’s face in April 2026, and he stars in the Bleu de Chanel L’Exclusif film directed by Alfonso Cuarón, released in May 2026. That’s a paid partnership. He hasn’t publicly confirmed what he wears in private, so treat any “his everyday scent” claim with caution.
Is Jacob Elordi the new face of Bleu de Chanel?
Yes. Chanel announced him as the Bleu de Chanel ambassador on April 23, 2026, following Timothée Chalamet. His first campaign centers on L’Exclusif, the woody, ambery version of the line built around New Caledonian sandalwood and cistus labdanum, created by in-house perfumer Olivier Polge.
Was Jacob Elordi in a BOSS fragrance ad?
Yes. He was a face of BOSS The Scent from 2022, starting with The Scent Le Parfum alongside Laura Harrier, and he returned for The Scent Elixir campaign in February 2024. By February 2025 BOSS had new faces for The Scent, and his Chanel contract makes a rival fragrance deal unlikely.
Does Jacob Elordi wear Chanel N°5?
We can’t confirm it. He co-starred with Margot Robbie in Chanel’s October 2024 N°5 film “See You at 5,” directed by Luca Guadagnino. One 2026 feature called N°5 his favorite, but it cited no quote or source, and we couldn’t find one. For now, it’s unverified.
What does Bleu de Chanel L’Exclusif smell like?
It’s a warm, woody, slightly leathery scent rather than a fresh “blue.” Sandalwood leads, cistus labdanum adds resin and a leather edge, and woody-ambery notes carry a long drydown. Chanel describes it as designed like an extrait and the most mysterious version of Bleu. It sits close to the skin and doesn’t shout.
Does Bottega Veneta or Calvin Klein give Jacob Elordi a fragrance?
No. His Bottega Veneta ambassadorship, which began in May 2024, covers fashion: campaigns, runway shows, and red carpets. His Calvin Klein work was for underwear and clothing. Neither deal involves a perfume, so any claim tying his scent to these brands has no evidence behind it.
How can I smell like Jacob Elordi on a budget?
Copy the mood, not the price. Look for a skin-close scent led by sandalwood, with labdanum or amber and a little leather. Apply two sprays to the chest instead of the neck. That gives you the quiet, warm effect of his campaign scent without paying for an extrait-strength bottle.
